Accounts Payable Specialist – Construction Summary- Key member of the accounting team for a well-respected general contractor
- Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions
- Supports vendor and subcontractor relations by ensuring prompt payment and issue resolution
- Contributes to a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Process timely and accurate entry of vendor and subcontractor invoices into the accounting system
- Reconcile vendor statements and promptly respond to vendor inquiries to maintain positive relationships
- Route all invoices to the appropriate party for approval and ensure documents are indexed within the paperless filing system
- Assist with the management of California Preliminary Notices and Lien Releases, ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Collaborate with colleagues on additional tasks and projects as assigned by management
- Maintain organized records and assist in the preparation of reports as required

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction accounting or accounts payable roles
- Solid understanding of construction industry accounts payable principles and processes, including experience with subcontractors, trade, and purchase orders
- Working knowledge of California Preliminary Notices and Lien Releases required
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite; experience with Sage Timberline and Sage Paperless is highly preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
