Accounts Payable Specialist – Construction Summary
- Key role in processing subcontractor payables for a leading commercial construction general contractor
- Collaborates with project accountants and project teams to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Focuses on maintaining documentation and communication with all stakeholders

Duties & Responsibilities
- Review subcontractor applications, lien releases, and affidavits of suppliers to ensure accuracy and adherence to billing requirements
- Notify subcontractors of any missing or non-compliant billing documentation or requirements
- Maintain ongoing communication with project managers and subcontractors throughout the payment process
- Process subcontract documents and manage the electronic filing system for efficient record-keeping
- Verify prevailing wage requirements for subcontractors when applicable
- Ensure subcontract agreements and change orders are accurate and updated in the accounting system
- Process job cost transfers related to materials, equipment, and other associated expenses
- Compile invoices and related documentation for monthly owner substantiation
