X-Ray Technician (Radiologic Technologist, ARRT) Job Overview
Bossier Family Medicine is seeking a certified X-Ray Technician (Radiologic Technologist, ARRT) for a full-time role within our outpatient radiology department. As part of our dedicated team, you will play an essential role in supporting healthcare providers and delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This opportunity allows you to work in a physician-owned family medicine practice committed to providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Operate radiographic equipment to produce x-ray images of patients' bodies as ordered by physicians for diagnostic purposes.
- Position patients accurately and provide clear instructions to ensure correct procedures and optimal image quality.
- Implement and maintain radiation safety standards and techniques to protect patients, staff, and yourself while working in the radiology department.
- Ensure all equipment is used and maintained according to established protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
- Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness and readiness for patient imaging procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and workflow.
- Document procedures and patient information accurately using PACS imaging systems and electronic health records.
- Assist with patient mobility and comfort, demonstrating sensitivity to diverse needs and conditions during imaging procedures.
- Remain current with industry standards, best practices, and required continuing education for radiologic technologists.
Qualifications
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registry or eligibility preferred for the X-Ray Technician (Radiologic Technologist, ARRT) position.
- Current Louisiana radiologic technologist license required for this full-time role.
- Demonstrated proficiency with radiographic equipment, imaging techniques, and related procedures.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and applicable regulations to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Basic computer skills for operating PACS imaging systems and managing electronic health records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
