Workstation Technician Job Overview
IDR is currently seeking a dedicated Workstation Technician for a contract role supporting a leading healthcare organization in San Diego, CA. This full-time, two-year contract opportunity offers the chance to work in a team-oriented environment and contribute to the vital technology infrastructure of a respected healthcare provider. As a Workstation Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of end-user computing devices and support systems within a dynamic clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive support for a Microsoft-based network environment, including configuration and maintenance of Windows 10/11 workstations, Microsoft Office 365 applications, MS Teams, and related desktop and networking issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to PC hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, tablets, as well as network communication and peripheral device concerns.
- Assist in the deployment of new hardware assets by receiving, staging, and executing equipment rollouts, and ensure all assets are accurately tracked in the asset management system.
- Perform data transfer and recovery tasks, manage email administration, and prepare IT assets for disposition in accordance with established technical manuals and organizational protocols.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail while following technical documentation and company policies to ensure compliance and high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience providing customer service support for PC and Macintosh desktop computing hardware.
- Demonstrated understanding of operating systems, hardware configuration, and software installation procedures.
- At least 2 years of experience in a client-facing position, preferably working with clinical staff and managing IT asset inventory.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume PC refresh cycles, with experience handling over 5 daily or 25 weekly PC refreshes.
