WebSphere Administrator Position OverviewARC Group is seeking an experienced WebSphere Administrator for a full-time, remote contract position. As a WebSphere Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our organization’s middleware and application server environments. Responsibilities- Monitor, install, configure, and administer WebSphere environments, with a focus on daily operations and ongoing maintenance to ensure smooth performance.
- Support additional platforms such as Liberty, NodeJS, WebLogic, and Tomcat servers as required by the assignment.
- Perform troubleshooting, issue resolution, and apply scripting or limited programming to maintain stable and efficient operation of all supported technologies.
- Oversee migration activities and manage integrations, including Liberty and NetScaler configurations.
- Manage and maintain CloudPak and OpenShift environments, leveraging DevOps best practices to optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab and Jenkins.
- Apply vulnerability management processes, conduct auditing preparation (including SOC2, OIG, and CMS audits), and ensure patches are applied for audit remediation and security compliance.
- Participate in on-call activities and respond to incidents as needed to support a stable production environment.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions that align with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders.
- Continuously adapt to new technologies and changes in the environment, applying constructive feedback to improve performance.
- 5-8+ years of relevant experience in the design, implementation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of technology systems, with a strong emphasis on WebSphere administration.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Liberty, NodeJS (admin side), and WebLogic administration.
- Proven ability to manage CloudPak and OpenShift environments, with practical DevOps and CI/CD pipeline experience (GitLab, Jenkins, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to perform limited programming and scripting to support systems monitoring and functionality.
- Comprehensive understanding of vulnerability management, security audits, and patch management processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills, high critical thinking ability, and the capacity to evaluate alternatives and present consistent solutions.
- Experience working in Agile environments and participating in major system implementations.
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
