This full-time, hybrid position provides a unique chance for an accomplished claims executive to play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and operational excellence of the company’s Commercial Auto claims division. The Vice President, Commercial Auto Claims will work closely with executive leadership to drive innovation, optimize processes, and ensure superior claim outcomes within a rapidly evolving insurance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and daily management for all aspects of the Commercial Auto claims function, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and implement best practices, workflows, and key performance indicators to drive operational excellence and efficiency.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture by mentoring and empowering department leaders and claims professionals.
- Analyze loss trends, reserves, and claims expense performance, making proactive, data-driven adjustments to enhance outcomes.
- Ensure strict compliance with all state and federal claims regulations, including the Unfair Claims Practices Act and other applicable guidelines.
- Serve as the escalation point for handling complex, high-exposure claims and significant loss oversight, delivering expert guidance and resolution.
- Oversee alignment of claims operations with overall corporate objectives, including effective budget management and resource planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support company-wide business goals and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Lead the delivery of ongoing technical and regulatory training programs for claims staff to maintain industry-leading expertise and compliance.
- Maintain and enhance policies, procedures, and internal controls that support consistent, high-quality claims outcomes.
Key Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in leading and scaling high-performing claims operations, with a focus on Commercial Auto insurance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial Auto insurance products, industry best practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with modern claims management systems and data analytics tools to support informed decision-making.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with a strong executive presence and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Requirements
- Minimum of six years of progressive experience in claims management, with at least five years in a senior leadership role overseeing Commercial Auto claims.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Industry-recognized certifications such as AIC (Associate in Claims), CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter), or similar credentials are highly valued.
