Usability Tester Job OverviewWe are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Usability Tester to join our remote team on a full-time basis. As a Usability Tester, you will play a critical role in evaluating user experiences and testing the functionality of both mobile applications and web platforms. By providing thorough and actionable feedback, you will help our development teams deliver high-quality digital products that serve users effectively. This position is based in Chesapeake, VA, but is performed entirely remotely, offering you the flexibility to work from your own location while making a significant impact on our technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Execute comprehensive usability testing scenarios for both mobile and web-based platforms, following established protocols and best practices to assess the overall user experience.
- Identify and document bugs, glitches, and areas where the user experience can be improved, providing clear and detailed descriptions for the development team’s review.
- Collaborate closely with software developers and other stakeholders to communicate findings, ensuring that critical issues are understood and addressed in a timely manner.
- Perform cross-platform checks to ensure that software features and interfaces function consistently across various devices, browsers, and screen sizes.
- Prepare and submit detailed daily or weekly reports summarizing testing results, recommendations, and observed trends to support ongoing product enhancement.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and a methodical approach to following structured test instructions and documentation.
- Comfortable working with remote communication and collaboration tools to interact with team members and submit testing documentation.
- Familiarity with the use and structure of app ecosystems, including both desktop and mobile environments.
- Previous experience in quality assurance, usability testing, or a related field is preferred, though not required for all candidates.
- Reliable internet connection and access to a desktop, laptop, or mobile device capable of running required testing software.
