As a Telemetry RN, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and caring for adult patients requiring cardiac telemetry in an acute care setting. You will demonstrate expertise in telemetry system operations, ECG monitoring, and the interpretation of cardiac rhythms. Your ability to recognize life-threatening dysrhythmias, respond promptly to emergencies, and collaborate effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary team ensures optimal patient outcomes. This full-time position offers the chance to work a flexible schedule, including coverage on select weekdays and weekends, in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Telemetry RN - Summary
- Serve as a Telemetry RN, providing specialized care for adult patients in an acute care setting.
- Monitor and interpret ECG rhythms, respond to cardiac emergencies, and communicate findings to providers.
- Participate in ongoing skills training and education to maintain clinical excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate telemetry systems and perform ECG monitoring, including electrode placement and rhythm interpretation.
- Analyze and document rhythm strips, interpreting rate, rhythm, intervals, and report abnormalities to providers.
- Identify and respond to life-threatening dysrhythmias by alerting medical providers or calling emergency response teams.
- Monitor pulse oximetry, assess and document findings, and report significant changes as required.
- Ensure timely communication with healthcare team regarding changes in patient status or monitoring parameters.
- Maintain knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and conduction systems to inform patient care.
- Comply with hospital and unit protocols, including SOPs related to telemetry and patient monitoring.
- Make rapid, informed decisions in acute situations and escalate care as necessary.
- Assess and troubleshoot temporary pacemaker functions, report malfunctions immediately.
- Provide post-procedural care for cardiac surgical patients, including those post-catheterization, CABG, and thoracotomy.
- Administer intravenous cardiac/antiarrhythmic medications in accordance with established protocols.
- Engage in ongoing unit education, skills fairs, and compliance activities.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, Associate Degree, or BSN).
- Current, active, unrestricted RN license from a U.S. state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Completion of a basic dysrhythmia course with certificate.
- At least one year of recent experience (within the last three years) in an acute care telemetry setting caring for adult patients with cardiac monitoring.
