Telemetry RN - Summary
- Full-time opportunity for an experienced Telemetry RN to provide specialized nursing care to adult patients requiring cardiac monitoring and intervention.
- Primary shift schedule is focused on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, enabling a work-life balance for nursing professionals.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret ECG and telemetry data, accurately placing ECG electrodes and recording telemetry information to assess patient cardiac rhythms.
- Analyze, document, and interpret rhythm strips according to unit protocols, including evaluation of rate, rhythm, PR/QRS/QT intervals, ectopic beats, and ST segment changes.
- Identify and respond immediately to life-threatening dysrhythmias by notifying providers and initiating emergency protocols as necessary.
- Conduct continuous pulse oximetry, assess and record findings, and report any significant changes or abnormalities to the healthcare team.
- Facilitate communication with the provider regarding changes in monitoring parameters or patient condition, and perform necessary adjustments to ECG equipment.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and the conduction system relevant to telemetry care.
- Ensure adherence to unit and hospital Standard Operating Procedures related to telemetry and patient safety.
- Exercise sound clinical judgment in emergency and potentially life-threatening situations, activating advanced cardiac life support measures as required.
- Assess and analyze temporary pacemaker function, recognizing and reporting failures to sense, pace, or capture.
- Provide post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients, including those recovering from catheterization, CABG, thoracotomy, and procedures involving chest tubes or drainage systems.
- Administer intravenous cardiac and antiarrhythmic medications following hospital policy and established procedures.
- Participate in ongoing education, skills fairs, and training to ensure compliance with hospital and Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a Diploma, Associate Degree (AD), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Current, active, full, and unrestricted RN license or registration from a recognized state or territory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is desirable.
- Basic dysrhythmia course with certificate required.
- Minimum of one year of recent (within the last three years) full-time experience caring for adult patients in an acute care telemetry setting with cardiac monitoring.
