As a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a critical role in the ongoing monitoring and management of adult patients requiring cardiac telemetry. Your responsibilities will include interpreting electrocardiogram (ECG) rhythms, recognizing and responding to life-threatening cardiac events, and ensuring that all telemetry data is accurately communicated to the healthcare team. Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Summary- Deliver continuous cardiac monitoring and telemetry support for adult patients in acute care environments.
- Interpret ECG rhythms, recognize critical cardiac events, and communicate findings promptly to healthcare teams.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical standards, and unit protocols.
- Participate in ongoing education, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Apply knowledge of telemetry and ECG monitoring to place electrodes and record telemetry data.
- Interpret and analyze rhythm strips, documenting rate, rhythm, PR interval, QRS interval, QT interval, ectopic beats, and ST segment changes.
- Identify life-threatening dysrhythmias and initiate immediate action, including notifying providers and activating emergency response teams as necessary.
- Monitor pulse oximetry and report changes in patient status according to protocols.
- Adjust monitoring parameters, replace electrodes and batteries as needed, and maintain accurate electronic records.
- Demonstrate understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and the functions of cardiac structures.
- Analyze temporary pacemaker function and report malfunctions to providers.
- Care for surgical cardiac patients, including post-catheterization, CABG, and those requiring chest tube management.
- Administer intravenous cardiac and antiarrhythmic medications in accordance with policy.
- Engage in skills fairs, training, and compliance activities to uphold unit and hospital standards.

- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Active, unrestricted RN license from a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Completion of a basic dysrhythmia course with certificate required.
- At least one year of full-time experience within the last three years caring for adult patients in an acute care telemetry setting.
- Strong clinical skills in cardiac telemetry, ECG interpretation, and acute patient care.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to make swift, accurate clinical decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Commitment to continuous learning and compliance with hospital and unit protocols.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and reposition patients throughout extended shifts.
- Stamina, manual dexterity, and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
