Technical Support Engineer Position Overview
IDR is seeking a full-time Technical Support Engineer to join a leading technology organization in Orlando, FL. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to advanced software, networked systems, and sophisticated equipment. Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel who are engaging with complex electro/mechanical equipment, computer systems, advanced software applications, and networked or wireless systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues that have not been fixed by first-line product support, ensuring minimal disruption to customers and end-users.
- Communicate directly with customers or users when addressing highly technical or sophisticated product issues, ensuring clear, professional, and timely responses.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams by reporting on design, reliability, maintenance problems, and software bugs, contributing to ongoing product improvement and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with customer installation and training as needed, providing guidance on technical setup and optimal product usage to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Deliver support for products that require a high level of technical expertise, acting as a subject matter expert for both customers and internal stakeholders.
- Document technical issues and solutions, contributing to knowledge bases and support resources to enhance the team’s effectiveness and customer self-service options.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on JavaScript.
- Proven ability to support customers and end-users from a technical standpoint, including thorough documentation and communication with software engineering teams regarding design, reliability, and maintenance issues.
- Strong experience in network troubleshooting and operating system (OS) debugging, demonstrating a deep understanding of technical environments and infrastructure challenges.
- Hands-on experience supporting ServiceNow automation solutions, with the ability to address automation-related incidents and requests efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and a collaborative approach to technical support.
