This full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students for the 2025-26 school year. The role involves working collaboratively within a school setting to support students with communicative disorders in Oakdale, CA. As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will play a key part in identifying, assessing, and treating speech and language disorders, working closely with both students and educational staff to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities
- Screen students for a variety of communicative disorders using established protocols and checklists.
- Employ a range of assessment procedures, techniques, and standardized tests to ensure thorough and accurate diagnosis of communication disorders.
- Conduct comprehensive triennial assessments of students' speech and language abilities to monitor progress and determine ongoing needs.
- Evaluate preschool children for communicative disorders and make appropriate referrals for additional support as needed.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs and abilities, ensuring compliance with legal and educational guidelines.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to support student success and integrate speech-language interventions into the educational environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of evaluations, treatment progress, and communication with families and staff.
- Perform additional Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) duties as assigned to support the needs of the school community.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility to obtain.
- Current or eligible Speech-Language Pathologist License or Clinical Fellowship issued by the State of California.
- Background and experience in areas such as language disorders, speech sound disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
- Experience working with school-aged students, preferably in a school setting.
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), web-based IEP programs, and experience collaborating as part of a school site team preferred.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and techniques of speech-language therapy.
