This full-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a school environment in Omak, WA for the 2025-26 academic year. The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will play a crucial role in supporting students with communication challenges, helping them develop essential language and speech skills. Key Responsibilities
- Screen students to identify communicative disorders and determine appropriate interventions.
- Utilize assessment procedures, techniques, and standardized tests to perform thorough and accurate diagnoses of communication disorders.
- Conduct triennial assessments to evaluate and document speech and language deficits for students.
- Assess and refer preschool-aged children suspected of having communicative disorders to appropriate resources and services.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique communication needs.
- Collaborate with educators, school staff, and families to ensure continuity and effectiveness of speech-language intervention services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with school and legal requirements.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities relevant to the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) role as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility to obtain one.
- Current or eligibility for Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) License or Clinical Fellowship.
- Eligibility to obtain Washington ESA certification.
- Background in language disorders, speech sound disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
- Experience working with school-aged students in an educational setting.
- Familiarity with IEPs, web-based IEP programs, and collaborative work within a school site team is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and techniques of speech-language therapy.
