Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time opportunity in Hoquiam, WA. This position is available for the upcoming 2025-26 school year and offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students. As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will play a vital role in helping students develop essential communication skills, ensuring they receive the support needed for academic and social success. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive screenings for communicative disorders among students, utilizing evidence-based assessment procedures and standardized tests for accurate diagnosis.
- Administer thorough triennial assessments to identify and document speech and language deficits.
- Evaluate and make necessary referrals for preschool-aged children exhibiting communicative disorders to ensure early intervention and support.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student, collaborating closely with other members of the educational team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to student progress, assessment outcomes, and therapeutic interventions.
- Assist in the delivery of speech-language therapy services as assigned, supporting the overall mission of the school and the needs of its student population.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA-CCC).
- Current Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility for licensure; Clinical Fellowship candidates may be considered.
- Eligibility for or possession of Washington ESA certification.
- Demonstrated expertise in areas such as language disorders, speech sound disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
- Experience working with school-aged students, including familiarity with school systems, IEP processes, and web-based IEP programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques associated with speech-language therapy within an educational setting.
