Software Engineer – Python Developer Job DescriptionIDR is seeking a full-time Software Engineer – Python Developer to join one of our top clients remotely. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of health technology, contributing to the development of transformative solutions that empower users with personalized diagnostics and real-time health insights. As a Software Engineer – Python Developer, you will play a key role in building and scaling a platform that is innovating preventive medicine through advanced data processing and rapid, trustworthy results.
Responsibilities- Design and develop robust, scalable systems using Python and the FastAPI framework to support high-volume diagnostics and real-time health data processing.
- Collaborate in a dynamic, engineering-led environment, taking ownership of significant projects and making critical architectural and performance decisions.
- Apply strong software engineering best practices, leveraging Agile methodologies, test-driven development, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines for reliable product delivery.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and clinical specialists to implement features that enhance user experience and health outcomes.
- Support infrastructure to accommodate exponential user growth and rapidly expanding datasets, ensuring system reliability and scalability.
- Engage in code reviews, technical discussions, and the ongoing improvement of engineering processes to maintain high standards of code quality and system performance.
- Minimum of 8 years experience as a Python Developer, including recent proficiency with FastAPI for backend development.
- Demonstrated experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for building and deploying scalable applications.
- Hands-on knowledge of Docker and/or Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration of services.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced Agile environment, with experience iterating on solutions based on user and stakeholder feedback.
- Strong grasp of backend engineering principles and commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
