Software Engineer Lead Position Overview
IDR is seeking a Software Engineer Lead to join one of our top clients remotely on a full-time basis. This position presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced software engineering professional with a passion for healthcare technology and a commitment to technical innovation. The Software Engineer Lead will take on a key role in driving technological advancements and supporting the development of scalable health tech solutions that empower individuals across the United States to manage their long-term health.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex software development projects, with active hands-on coding responsibilities and technical team leadership, primarily utilizing Python and FastAPI frameworks.
- Collaborate within an engineering-focused, team-oriented environment that emphasizes clean architecture, individual ownership, and strategic, long-term thinking in project execution.
- Design and implement scalable, resilient applications using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Docker to support large-scale health data infrastructure.
- Address real-world healthcare technology challenges by building and maintaining back-end systems capable of processing and analyzing extensive diagnostic and longitudinal health data.
- Apply best practices in software engineering, including Agile methodologies, test-driven development (TDD), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Manage and maintain the integrity of large-scale systems and high-complexity projects, ensuring robust functionality and reliability within Python and FastAPI ecosystems.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 12 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, including significant leadership roles, preferably within startup or fast-paced technology environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and FastAPI, with a track record of developing high-performance backend systems.
- Strong familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Docker for cloud-based application deployment and management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of software engineering principles, particularly Agile methodologies, TDD, and CI/CD practices.
- Demonstrated ability to architect, build, and support scalable systems that deliver measurable impact to end users, especially within the healthcare sector.
- Genuine passion for developing efficient, reliable technology solutions that directly contribute to improved health outcomes.
