Slitter Operator - Summary
- Converts master rolls into finished products according to order specifications.
- Operates and maintains slitting machinery and related equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow all plant safety rules and regulatory standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain clean work areas and uphold housekeeping standards.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to guarantee product quality.
- Load materials onto machine payoffs using overhead hoists and initiate threading through the machine.
- Enter required production data into shop floor computer systems and validate product labels for accuracy.
- Select, clean, and install spacers and cutting knives on machine shafts as specified.
- Thread sheeting through the slitter, ensuring all specifications are met for dimensions and quality.
- Secure slit strips onto cores, adjust guides and roller tension, and manage scrap winding as needed.
- Monitor the slitting and rewinding process, inspecting cut strips for flatness, wrinkles, and defects.
- Identify and communicate any scrap, mechanical, or quality issues promptly to supervisors.
- Stack and arrange rolls according to established packaging specifications.
- Consistently meet daily standards for productivity, product quality, and scrap management.
- Complete and submit all required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall plant operations.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively.
- Prior manufacturing or production experience preferred.
- Forklift experience is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
