The Slitter Operator plays a vital role in manufacturing operations by converting in-process or finished master rolls according to production schedules and customer specifications. As a key member of the production team, the Slitter Operator is responsible for the efficient preparation, processing, and handling of materials throughout the slitting operation. This position ensures that all materials are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. Slitter Operator - Summary- Responsible for converting master rolls into finished products based on customer and production specifications.
- Operates and monitors slitting machinery to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintains adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards throughout each shift.
- Plays a crucial role in maintaining manufacturing output and product quality.
- Follow all plant safety rules and standards to ensure a safe work environment.
- Maintain clean and orderly work stations by adhering to housekeeping practices.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company policies.
- Load machine payoff using an overhead hoist and manually thread material through the slitting machine.
- Input data into shop floor PC systems and verify accuracy of labels for finished products.
- Select, clean, and install spacers and knives on machine shafts.
- Thread sheeting through the slitter and verify slit dimensions to meet specification requirements.
- Secure slit strips onto cores, adjust guides and roller tension, and start the machine for production runs.
- Monitor slitting and rewinding operations, inspecting cut strips for flatness, wrinkles, and defects.
- Promptly communicate scrap, mechanical, or quality issues to appropriate team members.
- Arrange and stack finished rolls according to packaging specifications.
- Meet daily standards for productivity, quality, and scrap reduction.
- Complete and submit required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively and stand for the duration of assigned shifts.
- Previous manufacturing experience is preferred; experience with forklift operation is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Effective communication skills to report issues and collaborate with team members.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
