Senior Project Manager – MEP Construction Overview
The Senior Project Manager – MEP Construction is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction projects from initiation through completion. This full-time position, based in Denver, CO, plays a key part in cultivating strong client relationships, managing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex HVAC, plumbing, and process systems projects. The Senior Project Manager – MEP Construction leverages extensive experience and technical expertise to drive project performance, mentor emerging professionals, and uphold organizational standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal point of contact and single source responsibility for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead project management activities including conceptual engineering, cost estimation, proposal development, client meetings, and project closeout.
- Oversee all contract phases: sales, estimating, procurement, and execution, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Coordinate field labor and installation sequencing, collaborating closely with field leadership to achieve project objectives.
- Manage project financials by forecasting, preparing budget projections, and controlling costs within established parameters.
- Draft and review business documents such as proposals, contracts, change orders, and correspondence to ensure legal and procedural compliance.
- Manage billing processes and monitor project costs for accuracy and timeliness.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders including clients, vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners.
- Provide leadership and coordination between internal departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Construction, and Service throughout project execution.
- Participate in special studies, committees, and initiatives to advance technical capabilities and organizational effectiveness.
- Facilitate effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders, including attending project management, sales, and construction meetings.
- Schedule and coordinate pre-construction meetings with department heads and supervisors.
- Mentor and support Project Engineers and Project Coordinators, actively participating in recruitment, training, and professional development initiatives.
- Utilize internal resources and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to fulfill customer requirements and project goals.
- Perform additional duties and special assignments as directed by senior management to achieve organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating, designing, and managing HVAC projects, with project values ranging from $50,000 to over $100 million.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and achieve supervisor-outlined goals.
- Proven integrity and high ethical standards.
- Track record of developing new business opportunities within the construction industry.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple issues and project demands effectively.
- Active involvement in industry-based or community organizations is encouraged.

Physical Requirements
