SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (CASH OPERATIONS) ARC Group is seeking an experienced
Senior Accountant with Cash Operations for a one years onsite position with our client in their Fort Lauderdale, FL offices.
The Senior Accountant will play a key part in overseeing daily accounting operations, maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls, and leading a team of coordinators to meet departmental objectives.
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. Third-party candidates are not eligible.
Key Responsibilities: - Oversee and coordinate a team of accounting coordinators to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), internal controls, and company accounting policies.
- Apply U.S. GAAP principles to ensure accurate financial reporting and journal entries.
- Review and approve account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and staff-prepared journal entries.
- Analyze and explain key P&L and balance sheet variances (YOY, MOM) and identify significant fluctuation drivers.
- Understand foreign exchange rates and valuation impacts across multinational entities.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items and accurate equity investment reporting.
- Support external and internal audits by preparing financial schedules and documentation, including SOX compliance materials.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit to resolve potential internal control issues.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for financial systems implementations and upgrades.
- Assist in hiring, performance reviews, and staff evaluations for direct reports.
- Troubleshoot system-related issues and collaborate with IT or department analysts to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain organized financial records and implement effective record retention systems.
- Communicate service, process, and system issues clearly to management.
- Monitor and report departmental service levels and production volume.

Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution (required).
- CPA or MBA preferred.
- 4–7 years of experience in financial reporting, general ledger reconciliation, and analysis.
- 3–4 years of supervisory experience in accounting operations.
Skills & Competencies: - In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control compliance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to interact with senior leadership, auditors, attorneys, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Skilled in interpreting financial data, reports, and regulatory or legal documents.
- Proficient time management and prioritization abilities.
- Experience with JD Edwards or similar accounting systems.
- Comfortable working within IBM AS400 systems and PC-based tools (Excel, Word, Lotus Notes).
- Familiarity with data extraction tools and AS400 query functions.
