The Sales Project Manager (Construction Flooring) plays a pivotal role in driving business growth and ensuring successful project delivery within the commercial flooring sector. The Sales Project Manager is responsible for developing client relationships, generating new business opportunities, and managing projects from the pre-construction phase through to completion. Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Sales: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities with general contractors and end users. Develop strategic partnerships by maintaining a presence at industry events and association meetings to expand the client base and promote company services.
- Pre-Construction & Planning: Visit job sites to assess project requirements, take accurate measurements, and identify any logistical challenges. Prepare detailed take-offs and comprehensive estimates for labor, materials, and necessary site preparations to ensure competitive and accurate project proposals.
- Project Management & Execution: Oversee projects from initial contract award through completion. Manage project schedules, budgets, and installation quality to meet client expectations. Coordinate with internal installation teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely project execution. Conduct regular site visits to address field issues, monitor progress, and implement solutions as needed.
- Track and manage all aspects of job costing, billing, and change orders throughout the project lifecycle. Identify risks and workflow inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions and process improvements to maximize project success and client satisfaction.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Significant experience in commercial construction sales, estimating, or project management, preferably within the flooring industry.
- Strong project planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in reading construction plans and specifications, and experienced in using digital take-off and estimating tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, enabling effective collaboration with both internal teams and external clients.
