Risk Manager Job Description
ARC Group is seeking a dedicated Risk Manager for a full-time position within our Risk Management team in Miami, Florida. The Risk Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the company’s insurance programs, with a strong focus on insurance renewals, liability, property and casualty, auto, and group insurance. Working as a Risk Manager in Miami, Florida, you will collaborate closely with the Director of Risk Management and other internal stakeholders to implement robust risk mitigation and remediation strategies. This includes identifying, evaluating, and transferring risks, as well as managing the company’s risk management framework and insurance programs. The position requires a strategic mindset to proactively address corporate risk, ensure compliance with regulations, and align risk strategies with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the management and enhancement of the company’s risk management frameworks and comprehensive insurance programs, including renewals and claims administration.
- Spearhead insurance renewal processes, manage stakeholder communications, and deliver recommendations to senior leadership.
- Oversee the administration of insurance claims, ensuring timely reporting and proactive follow-up for optimal outcomes.
- Respond to diverse insurance-related requests, such as Certificates of Insurance (COIs), contract reviews, bids, RFPs, and claims notifications.
- Plan and administer risk and crisis management strategies to safeguard company assets and operations.
- Conduct operational risk analyses to assess exposure and determine appropriate insurance coverage needs.
- Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvements in risk management practices and reporting.
- Manage insurance quotes, binders, policies, and the renewal process in compliance with company guidelines.
- Review contracts and agreements to ensure appropriate risk transfer and insurance coverage is in place.
- Collaborate with operations, legal, and procurement teams to identify and implement risk mitigation and transfer solutions.
- Monitor insurance market trends and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership.
- Offer technical guidance and training on insurance, loss prevention, and risk management issues to build organizational awareness.
- Coordinate insurance submissions, agreements, and renewals across all programs and business units.
- Consolidate claims data and produce regular reports for senior management, supporting informed decision-making.
- Lead internal initiatives and educational programs to foster a culture of risk awareness and continuous improvement.
- Stay informed on industry trends to anticipate and advise on potential strategic adjustments.
Bond and Surety Management
- Develop and manage a comprehensive surety bond program, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with all relevant requirements.
- Respond promptly to permit, license bond requests, contract bond opportunities, and surety reference letters.
- Provide guidance to bidding and estimating teams on bond capacity, structure, and surety expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Management, or a related field.
- At least five years of corporate risk management or insurance brokerage experience, preferably with a large insurance company or brokerage firm.
- Extensive experience in managing corporate insurance and renewals.
- Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate corporate risks in a strategic and effective manner.
- Self-motivated, with strong work ethic and the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
- Impeccable attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, especially in insurance policies, claims, and contract reviews.
- Demonstrated adaptability, quick learning, and application of critical thinking in various situations.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and openness to feedback.
- Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, SharePoint, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively.
- Reliable and detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
- Ability to serve as a strategic business partner, aligning risk strategies with business objectives.
