Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Summary- Deliver specialized care to adult patients requiring intermediate, stepdown, or progressive care.
- Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, administering medications and interventions as required.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Act as an advocate for patient needs, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
- Participate in continuous professional development and maintain required certifications and licensure.
- Provide nursing care for patients in the PCU, IMC, or Stepdown setting, focusing on those with acute or chronic health conditions requiring close monitoring.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, record vital signs, and recognize changes in patient status.
- Administer medications, manage intravenous lines, and perform necessary procedures according to established protocols.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, post-discharge care, and health management strategies.
- Document care and interventions accurately and in a timely manner using electronic health records.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.

- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Intermediate Care (IMC), or Stepdown nursing preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications as required by the facility.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
