As a Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical, you will play a vital role in the direct care of adult and geriatric patients in an acute care setting. This full-time role involves comprehensive patient assessment, monitoring, treatment, and education, as well as effective collaboration with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. You will be expected to maintain proficiency in clinical skills, emergency response, and utilization of electronic medical records, all while adhering to military treatment facility protocols and Joint Commission standards.

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical Summary- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical acute care environment.
- Utilize advanced assessment, monitoring, and treatment skills to support patient health and recovery.
- Maintain clinical competencies and certifications in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Support the mission of providing quality care to service members, veterans, and their families.
- Perform comprehensive assessments of adult and geriatric patients, identifying changes in condition and developing appropriate care plans.
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and operate specialized medical equipment including PCA pumps and epidural infusions.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, participating in rapid response and resuscitation efforts such as Code Blue events.
- Document patient care accurately within electronic medical records, maintaining compliance with regulatory and facility standards.
- Educate patients and families regarding health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care to promote positive outcomes.
- Foster a supportive and collaborative environment among healthcare team members, precepting new staff as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives as directed by leadership.
- Adapt to changing unit needs, including floating to different departments and participating in customer service activities.
- Maintain all required certifications and participate in ongoing training to ensure clinical competency.

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current, active, full, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license or registration from a U.S. jurisdiction.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ full-time, recent experience caring for adult patients in an acute care setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in medical-surgical nursing, emergency response, and technical skills relevant to acute patient care.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in medical-surgical or acute care nursing.
- Skilled in patient assessment, clinical decision-making, and emergency response.
- Effective communicator, able to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and educate patients and families.
- Adaptable, dependable, and committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
- Physically able to meet the demands of direct patient care, including standing, walking, lifting, and responding quickly to emergencies.
- The Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical position requires the physical stamina and manual dexterity necessary for extended shifts and frequent patient interactions.
