The Project Engineer (PE) plays a vital role in supporting commercial construction projects from start to finish. This professional position is responsible for providing essential assistance to the Project Manager, ensuring all project phases are executed effectively. The Project Engineer (PE) is instrumental in planning, design, communication, coordination, and conflict resolution, contributing directly to the successful achievement of construction project objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, proposals, and related project documents to ensure accurate understanding and execution of the construction scope.
- Perform quantity take-offs and estimating for both self-performed and subcontracted work, supporting the development of precise cost proposals and project budgets.
- Conduct schematic estimating and assist in preparing and managing cost proposals for various phases of construction projects.
- Oversee and manage project scheduling, ensuring all tasks and milestones are completed according to established timelines.
- Gather and analyze quotes from subcontractors and material suppliers to support effective procurement and budgeting decisions.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors and material suppliers, including change order administration and ensuring contract compliance.
- Analyze alternative construction solutions and methods to enhance efficiency, safety, and project value.
- Prepare and manage owner and subcontractor billings, ensuring accurate documentation and timely payments.
- Process and manage submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring all project stakeholders are informed and aligned.
- Resolve discrepancies and project challenges by collecting, analyzing, and presenting relevant information to the team.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Good driving record to accommodate potential travel requirements.
- Strong familiarity with regulatory construction standards relevant to commercial building projects.
- Proficiency in mathematics and key software platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook), Sage 100, Procore, and Bluebeam.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience facilitating teams and delivering information effectively.
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial construction estimating, means and methods, project administration, LEED certifications, and industry best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, contributing positively to shared goals and project success.
- Professional demeanor and capability to represent the company in public and client-facing situations.
- Exceptional time management skills, with a proven ability to organize, plan, and solve problems creatively.
- Capacity to manage and schedule multiple priorities while adhering to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience
- Preferred 0-3 years of construction-related experience or equivalent knowledge.
- Experience working with CCSD (Clark County School District) projects is required.
- Completion of college coursework, degree program, or certification in a construction-related field is preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by management will be considered.
