Project Engineer - Summary
As a Project Engineer, you will assist the Project Manager and Superintendent throughout all phases of the construction management process. Your involvement will range from preconstruction planning and procurement to project execution and closeout. By ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, you will be integral to the success of the team and the satisfaction of our clients.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Project Procurement:
- Conduct quantity surveys and assist in pricing alternates
- Prepare and develop scopes of work, bid packages, comparison sheets, and contracts for subcontractors
- Assist in the negotiation, development, and management of contract administration functions
- Support the creation of project budgets and schedules
- Negotiate subcontract and material purchases
- Project Planning:
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of project schedules and cost systems
- Update schedules and manage material handling and storage
- Plan job logistics such as mobilizing trailers and arranging for utilities
- Obtain necessary building permits and licenses
- Project Operations:
- Review project plans and specifications
- Support the team with shop drawings, samples, and product data
- Set up logs for subcontractors and suppliers to track insurance certificates, contracts, payment applications, and material deliveries
- Develop and ensure compliance with quality control plans
- Participate in project coordination meetings and prepare meeting minutes
- Monitor project progress and facilitate change management processes
- Administer subcontracts including defining scope, answering inquiries, and tracking progress
- Procure and expedite materials and equipment deliveries
- Control inventory and coordinate subcontractors
- Coordinate and review drawings, submissions, specifications, and changes to maintain document control
- Resolve field questions with designers and consultants
- Assist in field operations and support safety and quality control initiatives
- Project Closeout:
- Complete punch lists and manage equipment removal
- Coordinate occupancy permits and submit required guarantees and warranties
- Submit as-built drawings and finalize subcontracts
- Maintain excellent relations with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and the public
- Liaison with building authorities and regulatory agencies as needed
- Assist with the technical and administrative requirements of projects to ensure time, cost, and quality objectives are met

Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively within a team environment
- Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to present issues and solutions in a timely manner
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 3-5 years of construction-related experience in a similar capacity
- Current residency in the Denver metropolitan area required
