Project Engineer Job Description
The Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting construction project delivery and ensuring effective implementation of company initiatives. As a Project Engineer in Denver, CO, you will serve as a key liaison between internal teams, business partners, clients, and project stakeholders, contributing significantly to the success of large-scale commercial construction projects. This full-time position is essential for professionals passionate about driving quality and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Represent the company professionally, supporting strategic initiatives and maintaining high standards of performance on all assigned projects.
- Establish and nurture positive, long-term relationships with internal customers, business partners, and external stakeholders to facilitate project success.
- Execute company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and alignment with organizational goals.
- Promote and embrace a lean culture and collaborative work environment.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with owners, design teams, consultants, subcontractors, and the project team throughout the construction process.
- Participate in pre-planning efforts in collaboration with the Project Manager and Superintendent to outline project objectives and deliverables.
- Partner with the Superintendent to ensure strict compliance with environmental, stormwater, and safety programs established by the company.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines as this role is classified as a safety-sensitive position.
- Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and mock-ups, and oversee the permitting process, third-party testing, and design-team field reports.
- Ensure accurate document control and archival of project information, including close-out processes and schedule updates.
- Coordinate procurement and installation of materials such as cast-in-place concrete, doors, frames, and hardware.
- Lead pre-punch and punch list processes and manage change management procedures to address project adjustments.
- Support the project team with OAC meeting preparation, implementation of QA/QC programs, and startup/testing requirements in alignment with company standards.
- Assist in pre-construction planning, third-party testing, safety preplanning, ILSM Plan, ICRA, and MOPs.
- Create and maintain the material delivery schedule to support timely project execution.
- Mentor and train indirect reports, contributing to team development and knowledge-sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- One to five years of general commercial construction experience required.
Skills
- Proficiency in CMiC and Bluebeam construction management software.
- Strong command of Microsoft products, including Navisworks, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Certifications & Licenses
- OSHA 10 Certification is required for this Project Engineer full-time position in Denver, CO.
- WELL AP Certification or LEED accreditation is also required to demonstrate expertise in sustainable building practices.
