Project Accountant - Summary- Responsible for managing financial aspects of multiple projects.
- Works closely with project managers and stakeholders to ensure financial goals are met.
- Provides essential financial insight and reporting to support project decision-making.
- Ensures compliance with contractual and internal financial requirements.
- Provide financial oversight and guidance for assigned projects.
- Prepare, monitor, and adjust project budgets in collaboration with project teams.
- Generate comprehensive financial reports analyzing project profitability, costs, and revenue streams.
- Track and reconcile project expenses, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
- Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities to maximize project financial performance.
- Ensure accurate, timely invoicing and billing based on project milestones or time/materials agreements.
- Monitor compliance with project contracts, including scope, deliverables, and agreed-upon financial terms.
- Participate in project meetings, providing financial updates, projections, and strategic advice.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with project execution.
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes for increased efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with internal and external audits, maintaining strong internal controls and financial documentation.

- Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent is required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, accounting operations, or audit.
- Experience in cost accounting is desirable.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, general ledger functions, and month/year-end close processes.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting, database, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and make informed recommendations.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a strong analytical mindset.
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical accounting standards.
