Primary Care Physician (MD/DO, FM/IM) Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Physician (MD/DO, FM/IM) for a full-time position in Kansas City, MO. As an innovative healthcare provider, our organization is committed to delivering exceptional primary care services within a patient-centered, value-based care model. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive outpatient primary care to an adult and senior patient population, focusing on individuals with complex chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension.
- Manage a patient panel of up to 650 individuals, with an average daily volume of 10-12 patients to ensure high-quality, personalized care.
- Collaborate closely with a dedicated care team, including medical assistants, schedulers, referral specialists, and supportive leadership, to provide seamless patient experiences and care coordination.
- Participate in a value-based care model, emphasizing patient satisfaction, clinical quality measures (including HEDIS compliance), and efforts to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations.
- Contribute to a positive clinic culture by embodying the organization’s core values and promoting wellness-focused initiatives, such as exercise and art activities for seniors.
- Participate in a call schedule determined by the number of providers in the market (e.g., 1:32 weeks if 32 physicians are present).
- Practice evidence-based medicine and utilize proficient PC skills in office procedures, including suturing, joint injections, skin biopsies, and basic wound care.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM) or Internal Medicine (IM) required.
- Fellowship training in Geriatrics is preferred but not required.
- Current, unrestricted, active medical license to practice in the state of Missouri.
- Current DEA registration required.
- Proficiency in common office-based procedures such as suturing, joint injections, skin biopsies, and basic wound care.
