Primary Care Physician (MD/DO, FM/IM) About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician (MD/DO, FM/IM) for a full-time position in Tucson, AZ. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care for adult and senior patients in an outpatient setting using a value-based care model.
- Care for a panel of up to 650 patients, primarily seniors managing multiple chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension.
- Maintain an average daily patient volume of 10–12 to support quality and continuity of care.
- Collaborate closely with a dedicated care team, including a medical assistant, scheduler, referral specialist, and leadership support, to deliver coordinated care.
- Participate in a rotating call schedule with fellow providers based on the number of physicians in the market (for example, 1 in 32 weeks if 32 physicians are present).
- Uphold best practices in primary care, including office procedures such as suturing, joint injections, skin biopsies, and basic wound care.
- Contribute to the achievement of patient satisfaction, adherence to HEDIS quality measures, and reduction of hospital sick days.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine (FM) or Internal Medicine (IM) is required.
- Current, unrestricted, active medical license to practice medicine.
- Current DEA registration.
- Proficiency in basic office procedures, including suturing, joint injections, skin biopsies, and wound care.
- Fellowship training in Geriatrics is a plus, though not required.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a rotating call schedule.
- New center opening in May 2025.
