Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) Job Description
Community Health Programs (CHP) is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals for the position of Primary Care Physician (MD/DO). This full-time opportunity is located in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, and is an excellent chance to join a team of committed healthcare professionals focused on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. As a Primary Care Physician with CHP, you will play a critical role in providing both routine and emergency clinical services, while promoting health, wellness, and preventive medicine within the community. The Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) will be expected to uphold CHP’s mission, vision, and values, ensuring compliance with all protocols, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Delivering comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, including preventive, acute, and chronic care management.
- Providing routine examinations, health screenings, and patient education regarding health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Managing urgent and emergent medical situations as they arise during clinic hours.
- Collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records, in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and adhering to evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- Engaging in continuous professional development and keeping up to date with medical advancements and best practices in primary care.
- Complying with all federal, state, and organizational policies regarding patient care, privacy, and safety.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Successful completion of an accredited residency program in a relevant specialty.
- Active and unrestricted Massachusetts medical license.
- Passing scores on the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE).
- Board certification in a primary care specialty, or eligibility with certification obtained within one year of hire.
- Excellent clinical judgment and proficiency in delivering evidence-based medical care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care and health education.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and high ethical standards at all times.
Preferred Experience and Additional Skills
- Three or more years of clinical practice experience in a primary care setting is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable to better serve our diverse patient population.
