Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) to join an innovative healthcare provider committed to improving patient lives in Greensboro, NC. This full-time outpatient role is an excellent opportunity for Board Certified or Board Eligible physicians in Family Medicine (FM) or Internal Medicine (IM) to deliver best-in-class care to a senior patient population with complex health needs. Our practice is grounded in a value-based care model that emphasizes quality, continuity, and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services to a predominantly senior patient population with multiple chronic conditions, including but not limited to heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension.
- Deliver care that aligns with a value-based model, focusing on patient outcomes, satisfaction, and reduced hospital admissions.
- Maintain a manageable patient panel size (maximum of 650) and a daily schedule of 10-12 patients to ensure personalized attention and continuity of care.
- Utilize effective team-based approaches by collaborating with dedicated care teams, including medical assistants, schedulers, referral specialists, and leadership support.
- Perform in-office medical procedures such as suturing, joint injections, skin biopsies, and basic wound care as necessary.
- Participate in an equitable call schedule determined by the number of providers in the market (e.g., 1:32 weeks if 32 physicians are present).
- Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly using electronic health records and adhere to regulatory and organizational standards.
- Uphold the highest standards of patient care, safety, and confidentiality in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (FM) or Internal Medicine (IM); Geriatrics fellowship is a plus but not required.
- Current, unrestricted, and active license to practice medicine in North Carolina.
- Current DEA registration.
- Proficiency in office-based procedures, including suturing, joint injections, skin biopsies, and basic wound care.
