Pool Technician Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pool Technician for a part-time role in Carlsbad, CA. The Pool Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and optimal operation of residential and commercial swimming pools. As a vital member of our pool service team, you will help maintain the company’s reputation for exceptional service and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities- Use your personal truck to transport pool maintenance equipment and supplies to various client locations in Carlsbad, CA and surrounding areas.
- Perform routine cleaning duties such as skimming debris from pool surfaces, vacuuming pools, and cleaning filters to ensure optimal cleanliness and safety.
- Test and balance water chemistry, including monitoring and adjusting pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and hardness levels, as required for healthy swimming conditions.
- Maintain and clean pool circulation systems, including pumps, filters, heaters, and skimmers, to ensure efficient operation.
- Inspect pools for potential structural concerns, such as leaks and cracks, and identify faulty or malfunctioning equipment for timely reporting or servicing.
- Conduct minor pool repairs, which may include replacing light fittings, tightening connections, and sealing small leaks.
- Manage inventory by stocking service vehicles with necessary chemicals, tools, and replacement parts, and accurately log supply usage.
- Maintain detailed and accurate service reports, customer records, and utilize company scheduling or time-tracking applications as required.
- Communicate professionally with customers, providing expert pool care advice, answering inquiries, and identifying opportunities for additional services or referrals.
- Uphold company standards for professional appearance, vehicle cleanliness, and strict adherence to safety protocols at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions and collaborate effectively with team members to ensure high-quality pool service delivery in Carlsbad, CA.
- High school diploma or GED is required for this Pool Technician position.
- At least one year of experience in pool cleaning, pool maintenance, or a comparable service role is preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and have reliable personal transportation capable of carrying pool maintenance equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of water chemistry and best practices in pool care is essential.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose basic pool equipment problems and perform minor repairs are important for success in this part-time Pool Technician role.
- Must be able to lift heavy items (up to 50–100+ lbs), stand and walk for extended periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions in Carlsbad, CA.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities are required.
