Podiatrist (DPM) Job Description
Saluja Medical Associates is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Podiatrist (DPM) to join our team. This position is available as either full-time or part-time employment, offering flexibility for qualified candidates who are passionate about providing exceptional podiatric care. As a Podiatrist at Saluja Medical Associates, you will play a vital role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of foot and ankle conditions for patients across all age groups. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a variety of injuries and diseases affecting the feet, ankles, and lower legs, utilizing advanced podiatric knowledge and clinical skills.
- Perform foot and ankle surgeries as needed, including corrective procedures for deformities, fractures, and other complex conditions.
- Prescribe and fit orthotics, braces, and corrective shoes to address gait issues, balance disorders, and chronic pain, ensuring effective support and comfort for patients.
- Administer therapeutic treatments for conditions such as arthritis, heel spurs, bunions, calluses, corns, fungal infections, and ingrown toenails.
- Consult with patients regarding preventative foot care, providing education and guidance to reduce the risk of future complications, especially for individuals with chronic conditions like diabetes.
- Provide specialized diabetic foot care, including nail trims, callus removal, peripheral neuropathy testing, skin ulcer treatment, and wound management.
- Utilize podiatric techniques such as casting, laser therapy, and other non-invasive and minimally invasive procedures to treat deformities and ailments.
- Review and update patient medical histories thoroughly, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each individual’s health background.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and bone density scans to inform accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications, including joint pain relief and other therapies, to support mobility and manage chronic or acute symptoms.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and make referrals to specialists when symptoms indicate severe or systemic illnesses, such as diabetes or kidney disease.
- Create customized foot casts for orthotics to address specific patient needs.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from an accredited institution.
- Comprehensive knowledge of foot and ankle disorders, including genetic abnormalities, deformities, and acquired conditions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with both pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Empathy and patience in managing serious and chronic diseases, ensuring compassionate care at all times.
