Physician Assistant (PA-C) – Part-time Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join a private Family Medicine practice on a part-time basis, with the potential to transition to full-time in the future. As a Physician Assistant (PA-C), you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to patients while working alongside a supportive team of healthcare professionals in a practice known for quality and compassion.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including detailed physical examinations, medical history reviews, and formulation of accurate diagnoses.
- Manage common chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma, tailoring treatment plans to each patient’s needs.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and radiology reports to guide clinical decision-making.
- Perform a variety of superficial surgical procedures, including lesion excision, biopsies, incision and drainage of abscesses, cryosurgery, pap smears, suturing, wound cleaning and debridement, surgical glue or suture repair, and removal of superficial foreign bodies.
- Administer injections, including joint, tendon, and trigger point injections, as clinically indicated.
- Utilize Accountable Care Organization (ACO) tools to support patients in accessing high-value healthcare and maintaining excellent quality scores within both commercial and public payer ACO programs.
- Participate in a rotation for after-hours calls with other staff providers, ensuring comprehensive patient coverage.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program and current licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) in the state of North Carolina.
- Active DEA license required for prescribing medications.
- Current certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Demonstrated professional clinical experience in family practice, emergency medicine, or urgent care settings.
- Experience using electronic health records systems to document patient encounters and manage medical information.
- Commitment to the principles of high-quality, high-value care, in alignment with ACO goals.
