Physician Assistant (PA-C) – Full-Time
Lexington Family Physicians, a well-established group family practice, is seeking a dedicated and motivated Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our team. This full-time opportunity offers the chance to work alongside experienced healthcare professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment. We welcome both experienced Physician Assistants and recent graduates who have completed an accredited PA program and are seeking to launch or advance their careers in family medicine.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive interviews and physical examinations of patients to assess health status and determine accurate diagnoses.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify the nature and extent of illnesses or injuries.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing appropriate medications and recommending lifestyle modifications to address medical conditions.
- Perform a variety of in-office procedures, such as suturing wounds and conducting minor surgical interventions as indicated by patient needs.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date patient records, ensuring accurate documentation for continuity of care and insurance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a family practice setting.
- Provide patient education and support, empowering individuals and families to make informed healthcare decisions.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program is required.
- Current NCCPA certification is mandatory for this Physician Assistant (PA-C) role.
- DEA license or eligibility to obtain a DEA license is necessary to prescribe medications.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and professionalism in a family medicine environment.
- Willingness to participate in minimal on-call duties, including telephone-only coverage approximately one weekend per month and one weekday per week.
- New graduates are encouraged to apply; prior experience is not required.
