Physician Assistant (PA) - Internal Medicine Position OverviewMarcos Medical Care is currently seeking a highly qualified and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) - Internal Medicine for a full-time opportunity in our established clinic. This role is essential in delivering high-quality health care and ensuring the well-being of our diverse patient population. As a Physician Assistant (PA) - Internal Medicine, you will collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to patients in need of internal medicine services.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough physical examinations and implement preventative health measures following the guidelines and instructions provided by supervising physicians.
- Perform various therapeutic procedures, including but not limited to administering injections, immunizations, wound care, and managing infections within the scope of internal medicine.
- Develop, implement, and monitor patient management plans, maintaining accurate progress notes and providing clear home-going instructions to support continuity of care for patients.
- Educate and counsel patients on compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, healthy lifestyle choices, normal growth and development, and ongoing health maintenance practices.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to effectively identify and assess patients’ clinical conditions and healthcare needs.
- Document physical findings and contribute to the formulation of care plans and prognoses based on individual patient health status.
- Collaborate with physicians to develop comprehensive and individualized patient care plans in the internal medicine setting.
- Prescribe or recommend medications and other therapeutic treatments such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related procedures as appropriate and within scope of practice.
- Refer patients to physicians for further consultation or to specialized healthcare resources for advanced treatment when necessary.
- Maintain and update accurate medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and clinic standards.
- Participate in other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the internal medicine clinic.
- Minimum of one year clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in internal medicine, family practice, urgent care, or emergency department settings is strongly preferred.
- Active Physician Assistant license in the State of Texas is required for this full-time position.
- Bilingual skills are considered an asset, but not required for the Physician Assistant (PA) - Internal Medicine role.
