As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical services, including prescription review, medication compounding, dispensing, and patient counseling. You will monitor medication therapy regimens to ensure each patient receives optimal treatment, and you will closely review medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with regulatory standards. Supervising inventory control, particularly with scheduled pharmaceuticals, and maintaining detailed records for controlled substances are also key aspects of this role. In addition, you will work alongside other healthcare providers to resolve potential medication-related issues and ensure patient safety at every step of the pharmaceutical care process.

Pharmacist - Summary- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care and services to diverse patient populations.
- Ensure medication accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance at all times.
- Serve as a critical resource and counselor for patients and healthcare providers.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory, particularly with scheduled pharmaceuticals.
- Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team supporting service members, veterans, and their families.
- Deliver a full range of pharmacist procedures and pharmaceutical services within facility capabilities.
- Review patient profiles at the time of medication dispensing to monitor therapy and identify potential issues.
- Counsel patients on the appropriate use, potential side effects, and safety of prescribed medications.
- Ensure prescription directions, dosages, and medication interactions are appropriate for each patient, intervening with providers as needed.
- Compound medications as required and verify the accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared by technical staff.
- Supervise inventory control of all pharmaceuticals, especially scheduled and controlled substances, and ensure robust pharmacy security.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all scheduled controlled substances in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve medication discrepancies or safety concerns.

- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college or university.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or ARC.
- Documented experience as an outpatient pharmacist within the past 36 months, ideally with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communicator, able to counsel patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
- Proven ability to manage pharmacy inventory and controlled substances efficiently.

- Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, use hands and fingers for dispensing and compounding, perform repetitive fine-motor tasks, and lift/carry pharmacy supplies as needed.
- Work schedule includes 9-hour onsite shifts, Monday through Friday, with potential for occasional weekend hours. Total weekly hours do not exceed 40.
