Painting Estimator Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Painting Estimator to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. As a Painting Estimator, you will play a vital role in supporting project estimation, administrative, and office operations. This position is ideal for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a strong aptitude for analyzing project requirements and costs in the painting industry. The Painting Estimator will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of the business by delivering accurate estimates and supporting project management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimating: Accurately perform take-offs, prepare proposals and submittals, and ensure all electronic files are organized efficiently. Seek guidance and clarification from team members or supervisors as needed to support your estimating duties.
- Bid Tracking: Utilize spreadsheets and estimation software to track project bids, ensuring all data is maintained and documented. Submit monthly or quarterly reports including client names, project details, and bid amounts, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality throughout the process.
- Project Analysis: Analyze project costs, billings, and net profit using accounting software such as QuickBooks. Report any discrepancies and work collaboratively with the office team to resolve issues and support ongoing process improvements.
- Administrative Support: Perform a range of administrative tasks to support the office and project estimation cycle, including documentation management, file organization, and general office assistance as required.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in estimating, preferably within the painting or construction industry.
