Medical Associates of Southwest Virginia is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our primary care team on a full-time basis in Blacksburg, Virginia. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality healthcare services to our diverse patient population, collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare staff. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals of varying ages and backgrounds in a primary care setting.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, collaborating physicians, and specialists regarding patient care plans and treatment options.
- Accurately chart daily visit notes and maintain up-to-date, thorough documentation using electronic medical record (EMR) systems in a timely manner.
- Review patient reports, interpret clinical data, and provide appropriate recommendations for follow-up care or further evaluation.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing (for NP) or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- Current board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Active and unrestricted NP or PA license in Virginia, with eligibility for prescriptive authority as required by state regulations and Virginia Boards of Medicine/Nursing.
- At least one year of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated computer literacy, including proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and other automated healthcare systems.
