Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Family Medicine & Women's Health Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in Family Medicine and Women's Health to join our outpatient specialty clinic in Houston, Texas. This part-time opportunity involves working three days a week, providing high-quality, patient-centered care with a focus on diagnosing and treating chronic pelvic pain. Our clinic is recognized for its innovative, ultrasound-guided approach to pelvic health, serving both women and men, and is proud to be the first of its kind in the nation. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will play a critical role in our interdisciplinary care team, helping patients achieve improved health outcomes with state-of-the-art procedures that require minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently assess, diagnose, and treat patients with chronic pelvic pain, pelvic injuries, postpartum concerns, incontinence, pain with intercourse, and other pelvic floor dysfunctions in an outpatient setting.
- Perform routine women's health procedures, including IUD placements and pelvic exams, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Utilize our proprietary, office-based ultrasound-guided procedural protocol to treat pelvic pain and pelvic floor muscle dysfunction. Comprehensive training is provided.
- Apply a multimodal, interdisciplinary, and non-opioid functional restorative approach to patient care, focusing on holistic wellness and long-term solutions.
- Work collaboratively with medical assistants and office staff, and, if required, serve as the sole provider in the clinic during assigned shifts.
- Manage a daily patient load of 15-20 individuals, primarily aged 20-40 years.
- Document all patient interactions and procedures using eClinical Works EMR system.
- Participate in ongoing staff training and contribute to the development of clinic protocols related to pelvic health and integrative nutrition/health coaching for endometriosis care.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) with current and unrestricted APRN licensure and prescriptive authority in Texas.
- Specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP).
- Minimum of three years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner (NP), with demonstrable expertise in women's health, including familiarity with IUD placements and pelvic examinations.
- Background in Planned Parenthood or a women's health-focused clinical setting is required.
Employment Type and Work Schedule
- Employment Type: Part-time
- Schedule: Three days per week, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (24 hours per week)
- No nights, weekends, or on-call shifts required
