Mobile Game QA Tester Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and insightful Mobile Game QA Tester to join our remote Quality Assurance team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating multiple aspects of mobile games from a user’s perspective, providing both subjective and objective feedback to help enhance player experience. The Mobile Game QA Tester position is ideal for an individual who has a passion for mobile gaming and a keen eye for detail, as you will be directly involved in analyzing gameplay, mechanics, and design elements to ensure high-quality, engaging, and enjoyable products for players. This position is remote and open to candidates located in North America, allowing for flexible work arrangements.
Responsibilities- Play and thoroughly test mobile games, focusing on the overall player experience, journey, and long-term engagement factors.
- Identify, document, and report areas where player experience could be improved, such as confusing mechanics, challenging difficulty spikes, or unrewarding gameplay loops.
- Provide detailed feedback on various elements of the game, including design, storytelling, user interface, controls, and monetization strategies, to help developers refine and optimize the player experience.
- Simulate diverse player personas and archetypes to assess how different players might interact with and respond to various features within the game.
- Compile and deliver comprehensive reports on a regular basis, summarizing observations, player sentiment, and actionable recommendations for improving the mobile game experience.
- Strong empathy for players and a deep understanding of what makes mobile games engaging, accessible, and enjoyable.
- Experience with remote collaboration tools and comfort working independently as part of a distributed team.
- Extensive knowledge and experience playing a wide range of mobile game genres, with the ability to analyze and critique gameplay from a user’s perspective.
- Preferred prior experience in game playtesting, user experience research, or community management within the gaming industry.
- Reliable internet connection and consistent access to up-to-date mobile devices suitable for testing various games.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate player sentiment, feedback, and suggestions to both technical and non-technical team members.
