Medical Sales Representative Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Sales Representative to join our team on a full-time basis in Denver, CO. Our organization is a leading provider of urine drug testing and toxicology laboratory services, serving clients in addiction and substance use disorder treatment, MAT and OTP clinics, and pain management settings. With laboratory operations across more than 30 states, we are committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic solutions to healthcare providers and their patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive growth in specimen volume within the assigned territory by developing new customer accounts and expanding business with existing clients.
- Maintain a minimum of five active pipeline leads at all times to ensure a steady flow of new business opportunities.
- Conduct at least four in-person sales or service calls daily to effectively engage customers and prospects.
- Accurately record daily sales and service activity using CRM software to ensure proper tracking and follow-up.
- Consistently achieve sales goals while adhering to expense budgets; ensure timely submission of expense reports at least monthly.
- Utilize various prospecting techniques, networking strategies, and lead generation tools to establish new customer relationships.
- Develop and manage strong, sustainable relationships with physicians, clinical staff, and key stakeholders in each account.
- Provide regular updates to the Regional Sales Director regarding prospects, pipeline activity, and monthly volume forecasts.
- Represent the company at local and national conferences and tradeshows as assigned, generating leads and engaging with potential customers. Leads generated are routed to the appropriate sales representatives based on territory.
- Ensure compliance with all HIPAA confidentiality requirements and maintain the highest standards of privacy and security in all dealings.
- Promote and uphold the organization’s reputation and positive image in every customer interaction.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations while marketing laboratory services, adhering to ethical and legal standards.
- Participate in ongoing training to continuously enhance product and market knowledge and maintain a competitive edge through independent research.
- Work independently to organize the territory effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet all deadlines.
- Travel extensively within the assigned territory, including overnight stays as necessary, to meet customer needs and business objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the broader goals of the sales team and organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with physicians and clinical office staff.
- Strong closing and cold calling skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Effective organizational skills and prior experience managing a large geographic territory.
- Commitment to achieving aggressive volume growth objectives.
- Existing clinical contacts within the region are desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Self-motivated starter who works well both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to understand, present, and explain clinical and technical product information to healthcare professionals.
- Experience in medical, laboratory, or pharmaceutical sales is highly valued.
- Driven, high-energy, and persistent approach to standing out in a competitive environment.

- Detailed vision required for computer screen and documentation tasks.
- Clear verbal communication skills and the ability to focus on relevant audio sources.
- Prolonged periods of telephone or virtual communication.
- Willingness and ability to travel via personal automobile and airplane as required for business needs.
