Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant (Full-time) Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our internal medicine team. This full-time opportunity combines the front desk responsibilities of a medical receptionist with hands-on clinical support duties typical of a medical assistant. The ideal candidate will be able to ensure the smooth operation of administrative and clinical processes, supporting both patients and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage patient scheduling and registration, ensuring accurate and timely appointments for all patients.
- Process medical record requests, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform various clerical tasks, such as filing, handling correspondence, and organizing documentation to support office operations.
- Facilitate patient intake procedures, gathering and verifying necessary information from each patient upon arrival.
- Measure and document vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate, promptly and accurately.
- Assist with performing EKG tests under the supervision of clinical staff and according to established protocols.
- Administer injections as directed by licensed healthcare professionals, adhering to proper safety and documentation protocols.
- Conduct phlebotomy procedures, ensuring patient comfort and specimen integrity for laboratory processing.
- Handle medication refill requests, coordinating with providers to ensure safe and timely prescription management.
- Manage telephone triage, accurately relaying information and messages between patients and clinical staff, and addressing routine inquiries.
Qualifications
- Previous medical office or medical assisting experience is preferred; however, training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate strong potential and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential for success in this medical receptionist/medical assistant (Full-time) role.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
