We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team in a full-time capacity. As a Medical Receptionist in a family medicine practice, you will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional patient experience by managing front desk operations and supporting both patients and healthcare providers. Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients upon arrival, ensuring all necessary information is accurately collected and updated in the electronic health record system.
- Check out patients after appointments, providing any required instructions or documentation as directed by healthcare providers.
- Collect patient copays and outstanding account balances in accordance with clinic policies and procedures.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, reschedule as needed, and provide appointment reminders to minimize no-shows.
- Update and verify patient insurance information at each visit to ensure seamless billing and claims processing.
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, directing calls to the appropriate staff or handling routine inquiries regarding appointments, clinic policies, or services offered.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations and clinic protocols related to the handling of sensitive information.
- Collaborate with fellow front desk staff, medical assistants, nurses, and providers to ensure efficient patient flow and support the overall functioning of the clinic.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, or customer service setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing outstanding patient service.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and remain organized in a busy environment.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and familiarity with electronic health record software is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling patient records and financial transactions.
