Key Responsibilities- Warmly greet and check in patients, ensuring a courteous and professional experience from the moment they arrive.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments efficiently using phone and digital portals, maintaining an organized appointment calendar.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate medical staff or providers as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records while adhering to HIPAA compliance standards to safeguard sensitive health information.
- Collect co-payments and outstanding balances, ensuring all payment transactions are handled accurately and discreetly.
- Collaborate with providers and medical staff to relay messages, coordinate patient flow, and support clinical operations.
- Perform a variety of clerical duties, such as filing, scanning, and faxing documents, to support the efficient functioning of the medical office.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in a medical office or customer service environment is preferred, providing a foundation for success in the role.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor are essential for interacting with patients, staff, and providers.
- Proficiency with medical software and standard office equipment, such as computers, printers, and fax machines, is expected.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic insurance processes is a plus, facilitating smooth patient interactions.
