The Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a primary care office. As a Medical Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing a welcoming and professional environment while managing a variety of front desk and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Greet all patients upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression at the Fowlerville, MI location.
- Obtain and verify all necessary patient registration information to facilitate seamless check-in processes.
- Accurately complete patient forms, collect payments, and ensure that all charges are correctly posted to the billing system as required by office protocols.
- Schedule patient appointments according to office guidelines, optimizing provider and patient schedules for efficient care delivery.
- Answer incoming telephone calls with professionalism, using proper phone etiquette; retrieve and relay messages accurately and triage patient calls to the appropriate personnel.
- Balance daily payment and charge postings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with office standards.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain insurance authorizations, and process referrals as needed to support patient care.
- Sort and organize incoming faxes and other correspondence to maintain orderly office operations.
- Coordinate follow-up appointments, complete lab and imaging order documentation, and inform patients about referrals or specialist appointments as required.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with physicians, patients, coworkers, and department representatives.
- Proficiency in computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize a variety of office hardware and healthcare software systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple administrative tasks efficiently.
- Commitment to outstanding customer service and maintaining a positive, patient-focused attitude.
- Solid understanding of medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
Employment Type
