We are seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our front desk. Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors promptly and professionally upon arrival at the medical office.
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate personnel or department.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, update patient records, and manage appointment calendars using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Verify patient information and insurance details, collect necessary documentation, and ensure accuracy of data entry.
- Process patient check-in and check-out procedures efficiently, including collecting copays and providing required forms.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk and waiting area to ensure a welcoming environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and distributing mail.
- Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient flow and support clinical operations in the office.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information in compliance with HIPAA and organizational guidelines.
- Respond to patient concerns and provide accurate information or escalate issues to the appropriate team members as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and team members.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software is beneficial.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
