Medical Practice Manager Job Overview
Our dynamic multisite healthcare organization is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Practice Manager to lead our group practice operations. As a Medical Practice Manager, you will oversee the daily functions and strategic direction of our medical offices, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, staff coordination, and operational efficiency. This full-time role is essential to maintaining the successful delivery of healthcare services and supporting our mission to provide outstanding patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Direct all financial aspects of the practice, including budgeting, payroll, and revenue cycle management. Develop annual budgets, supervise operational costs, and ensure that revenue goals are met. Manage accounts receivable and implement strategies to address unpaid balances.
- Staff Management and Development: Oversee daily staffing to ensure optimal clinic operations. Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, onboard new staff members, and manage work schedules for medical assistants, receptionists, and support staff. Foster ongoing staff development through training and regular performance evaluations.
- Office Administration: Manage patient appointment scheduling, facilitate effective patient communication, and supervise the handling and secure storage of medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Oversee insurance verification and ensure accurate and timely billing and reimbursements.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards, including infection control, sterilization, and OSHA requirements. Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and oversee staff training in patient confidentiality. Manage credentialing processes and conduct regular audits for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Technology and Systems Management: Supervise the use and integration of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and practice management software to streamline operations. Enforce robust data security measures to protect patient and business information from unauthorized access and cybersecurity threats.
- Patient Care Coordination: Develop and maintain protocols to ensure high-quality patient care. Address patient concerns, monitor satisfaction levels, and resolve issues promptly to foster positive patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a healthcare management or supervisory role, preferably within a medium-sized medical practice environment.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare regulations, HIPAA, OSHA, and revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and practice management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, staff, and healthcare providers.
- Ability to analyze financial data, implement budgets, and drive operational improvements.
