Medical Oncologist (MD/DO) Position Overview
Optigy is seeking a dedicated Medical Oncologist (MD/DO) for a full-time locum tenens opportunity in Northeast Ohio. As a locum Medical Oncologist, you will be instrumental in providing high-quality oncology services in a dynamic, academic-affiliated health system that supports both outpatient and inpatient care. This role is ideal for physicians who are passionate about delivering evidence-based, patient-centered oncology care in a supportive and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive medical oncology care to patients, managing both outpatient and inpatient cases as required by the facility.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including advanced practice providers (APPs), oncology pharmacists, and oncology-certified nursing professionals, to formulate and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Participate in tumor boards, case conferences, and consultative services, contributing expertise to the management of complex oncological cases.
- Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic technologies available within the network’s cancer treatment centers.
- Maintain rigorous documentation and adhere to all institutional, state, and federal compliance standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and remain current with advancements in oncology care and clinical research where applicable.
- Provide compassionate support and education to patients and their families throughout the cancer care continuum.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology or Medical Oncology (MD or DO required).
- Active and unrestricted Ohio medical license.
- Demonstrated experience in high-volume or academic oncology settings is preferred.
- Exceptional communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused oncology care.
