Medical Oncologist (MD/DO) Position OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated Medical Oncologist (MD/DO) for a full-time locum tenens opportunity in Northeast Ohio. This position offers the chance to collaborate with one of the Midwest’s most respected oncology networks, renowned for its commitment to advanced cancer care and multidisciplinary collaboration. As a locum Medical Oncologist, you will be instrumental in providing high-quality oncology services in a dynamic, academic-affiliated health system that supports both outpatient and inpatient care. This role is ideal for physicians who are passionate about delivering evidence-based, patient-centered oncology care in a supportive and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive medical oncology care to patients, managing both outpatient and inpatient cases as required by the facility.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including advanced practice providers (APPs), oncology pharmacists, and oncology-certified nursing professionals, to formulate and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Participate in tumor boards, case conferences, and consultative services, contributing expertise to the management of complex oncological cases.
- Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic technologies available within the network’s cancer treatment centers.
- Maintain rigorous documentation and adhere to all institutional, state, and federal compliance standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and remain current with advancements in oncology care and clinical research where applicable.
- Provide compassionate support and education to patients and their families throughout the cancer care continuum.
- Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology or Medical Oncology (MD or DO required).
- Active and unrestricted Ohio medical license.
- Demonstrated experience in high-volume or academic oncology settings is preferred.
- Exceptional communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused oncology care.
- Full-time locum tenens assignment in Northeast Ohio.
